Lend me your hand and we'll conquer them all
Lend me your heart and I'll just let you fall
Lend me your eyes and I can change what you see
but your soul
you must keep totally free
Lend me your heart and I'll just let you fall
Lend me your eyes and I can change what you see
but your soul
you must keep totally free
The wind moved the branches of the trees ever so slightly as it passed through their leaves. The gentle sway of the trunks and the whisper of the breeze made the day a nice day. A wonderful day, in fact. The sun was out and dancing through the limbs of the tall pine trees in this part of this the territory. Bird fluttered from place to place, from limb to limb until they finally took flight to wherever they decided to go. There was no rhyme or reason to what a bird did. And that was the beauty of them. They were completely free of any and all cares in the world. They did what they wanted to, when they wanted to, and died when a cat or something else killed them.
A light grey, almost white, she-cat moved through the pine forest with ease. Her long fur, looking elegant and lovely in the sunlight, gave her a certain grace as she padded gently and silently through the forest. Her big brown eyes scanned the area for any signs of life, though there was none to find. This time of day, everyone was in camp talking about Riverclan or out hunting in the easier part of the forest to hunt in. There was little cover among the pine trees, and most found it difficult to hunt in this part of the woods. Mouseflight loved a challenge, but she wasn't here to hunt. The trees were also easier to climb in the thicker area of the forest. And she loved to climb trees. Killing animals wasn't much of her thing, but she would if she had to. Such as to eat. But for now, she would do what she loved. And no one was around to stop her.
She stopped near the base of a rather large pine tree. Looking up, she could see that the first branches didn't start until at least five tail lengths up. With a deep breath she unsheathed her claws and steadied her heart beat. She could do this. She jumped up, digging her claws into the tree. They could support her, as long as kept moving. She inched her way slowly up the tree. It was work, and she was breathing hard by the time she got the first branch. But it was all good and easy now. She moved in the tree like a squirrel. She was so graceful, so confident in her movements. her long, fluffy tail swished through the air, letting everyone who was looking - which was probably no one - that was extremely happy to be in this tree.
She finally settled down on one of the thick middle branches. She laid down on it, letting her front paw and tail dip over the edge of the branch and hang freely in the air. She wasn't worried about falling. She was used to the movement of the tree and branches due to wind. She could balance like this for all day, and love it. She closed her eyes, laying her head down on the branch, and let the wind prickle her fur. She loved the feeling of heights, loved being able to pretend she was flying. She imagined herself, flying through the stars and clouds, flying all the way to the sun and moon and back. The thought made her smile. She would be free. Free from her past, from her cares. She would be alone, but wasn't she already? The smile faded away as she thought about her brother, Ebony. He was such a good warrior. Such a wonderful cat. He didn't deserve to be mauled and tortured like that. She let out a sigh, wishing he was still here with her. When she exhaled, she let go of all thoughts about him. He was in the past. And flying was in her future.
In these bodies we will live
and in these bodies we will die
and in these bodies we will die
