SHADOWCLAN - 42 MOONS - LEADER - FEMALE - HETEROSEXUAL
PERSONALITY
Ivystar has three general rules she follows, and these rules run who she is. She developed some from birth, and others grew along the way.
The first rule is that she always comes first. Always. The clan might come in second, but only because it keeps her in a position of honor and power. Now, this isn't to say that she doesn't care about other cats. She most certainly does care - just not nearly as much as she cares about herself. She loves kits and little ones, loves to be around them, but if it came down to her or them, she would chose herself in a heartbeat every time. No one is worth dying for. You're the only that matters to you. So you have to protect yourself above all else. It's how she survives in the world.
The second rule is that she always follows her heart. There isn't time to think about things or ponder on what she should do. She has to act on her gut feeling - and it hasn't led her wrong yet. Being impulsive causes her to say what she thinks, also, and that can sometimes come off as rude. But she always honest, always telling the whole truth. She wouldn't want to be lied to, so she doesn't lie either. Her gut reaction is almost always fight and take a stand rather than run, which has gotten her into quite a few fights that she couldn't handle. She always comes out of it somehow, however.
The third rule is that she will succeed. She will succeed at anything she sets her mind to, no matter the cost. She is determined to always win, to always be on top. She has to be right all the time. She is a strong willed, head strong she-cat that doesn't need anyone else - in her mind. She will never accept help - her ego won't allow her to. She is always stubborn and will get her way. Even if she has to do terrible things to get it. She and her clan will survive. That, Ivystar has no doubt about.
Now, a disclaimer about Ivystar. She has a temper like no one has seen. She is strong and impulsive, and those two combine to form a monster when she's mad or hurt. Since she has very real, very visible emotions, when she gets hurt it's like a tornado coming through. She has calmed down a lot in her age, but she still can get pretty angry. Especially around stupid, annoying cats. There's nothing she hates more than stupidity. She doesn't get along well with the other clans, seeing as she loves to think her clan is the best and strongest and will survive this.
HISTORY
Ivywing was born to Spiderstep and Pinetail when they were but only just out of the apprentice den. Her parents loved her and her sister - Foxpaw. They also loved each other very deeply. As far as she can remember, her kithood was full of love and cherishing. She got her temper from her father, however, and the peace did not last very long. But for then it was full of exploration and rule breaking, for Foxpaw was always the mischievous type. Ivywing just loved to be impulsive, and so the duo set off a rule breaking tangent. Everyone knew those kits were going to be trouble.
Shortly after they became apprentices, Heronstar became leader. The tyrannical tom chose her mother to deputy, which Pinetail was not happpy about. Heronstar was known to like the ladies, and Pinetail didn't take too kindly to the idea that he would be spending all this time with his mate. He verbally "assaulted" Heronstar in front of the clan, and the leader, knowing he had to show that he was in charge, exiled Pinetail and forbade him from ever coming back. He made Spiderstep stay, however. He would not allow her to go. And she was too scared to do anything but follow him. Ivywing watched as her father left camp, upset that such a good tom had to leave in such an dishonorable way. She continued on about her life, training with a mentor who could barely handle her fiery power. He was a push over, and would let her do whatever she wanted. She liked that about him, but he lost major respect from her because of it.
Foxpaw was one of the first to die of the infected rats. Ivywing and her mother cried over their loss together for not even day when Heronstar came in and told them that they had to get over it. Ivywing went off the tom, telling him that he needed to give her mother a rest and that he should respect her feelings. He just laughed off the apprentice, and walked out with her mother. She remembered thinking that her mother wouldn't survive all of this.
And she was right. Her mother died of stress only one moon later, just before Ivywing was to become a warrior. The she-cat was so upset and hurt, she found Heronstar in the woods and gave him another piece of her mind. He admired her spunk and her boldness, and he let her go without any punishment. She became a warrior the next morning, the only one left of her family. That same morning, Mapleshadow was announced as deputy. Ivywing wasn't close to the she-cat, but she warned her of how her mother died before. The she-cat advised Mapleshadow to not let Heronstar live much longer, lest the clan become too far gone and past the point of saving.
Within a week Ivywing had an apprentice. The little thing really had no effect on her life in anyway, but she did enjoy training him. She enjoyed the late nights hunting and the early morning fights. Three moons passed by and the clan was not surprised to hear of Heronstar's death. Everyone knew someone had pushed him off that gorge, but no one really knew who. Ivywing was on the list of suspects, but she didn't hate the tom that much. She was angry, sure, but not enough to kill him.
It came as a surprise when Maplestar chose Ivywing as her deputy. She was still training her apprentice, and only 25 moons old. She was young and fiery, but Maplestar had faith that she would be a good leader some day. Ivywing took the position seriously, and instantly began blooming into the natural leader she was. She was an impulsive leader, but no one could ever be as bad as Heronstar. Ivyewing served Maplestar for 15 moons before the leader died of the rat disease. Reeling from her friend's death, the now 40 moon old she-cat was thrown into being leader of a dying clan.
