HISTORY
Littlestar was the smallest son of Gullfeather and Tansyfoot's last litter. The two were getting old at the time, and Littlestar suffered the most for it. He was born underweight, and would remain small for the rest of his life. His siblings, Tawnykit and Eaglekit, did not struggle nearly so much. They were stronger than Littlestar from the start. During their games, as kits, he would often get bowled over. His siblings did not mean to push him around but Littlekit got hurt anyway, and his mother frequently had to pull him to the side to stay with her instead. Littlekit struggled not being able to play the same games as his siblings. They were kits, impatient and never willing to wait for their brother's little legs to catch up.
Becoming an apprentice made things a little easier. Tawnypaw and Eaglepaw were so tired after training every day that they did not mind walking at a pace that matched Littlepaw's diminutive size. Besides, he was growing fast. He was apprenticed to a grouchy old tom named Toadfur. Littlepaw was young, naive, and very curious, but he was also timid at heart. He did not take well to being yelled at or reprimanded. Toadfur had little patience for Littlepaw's soft heart, and so during his apprenticeship the two fought often. As Littlepaw grew up, however, he and Toadfur reached an odd sort of understanding. They still bickered, but Littlepaw was learning to stand up for himself.
By the time Littlepaw, Tawnypaw, and Eaglepaw were old enough and strong enough to earn their warrior names, their mother was dead. Their father had retired to the Elder's den, as old age started to take his sight. He was nevertheless immensely proud watching his children take their warrior names. Littlepaw became Littlefoot, Tawnypaw became Tawnyclaw, and Eaglepaw became Eaglestorm. They sat vigil together, proud and young and eager to start this next stage of their lives.
The three lived a shockingly peaceful life for a bunch of warriors. Tawnyclaw mated with a swift and intelligent young warrior named Dovestream, and the two of them had three lovely kits together. Two of those kits were mentored by their uncles, Littlefoot and Eaglestorm. Littlefoot took great pride in the care of his tiny niece, Fawnpaw. She was a sweet, clumsy little thing with a great love of life, and just as gentle-hearted as he had been when he became his training. The pair of them are still very close now, since Fawnpaw became Fawnspot and Littlefoot became leader.
It was a shock to everyone--especially Littlefoot--when Froststar chose him as his deputy. Littlefoot was still young, and there were many more experienced and confident warriors. Littlefoot, however, had impressed Froststar with his tender care for the vibrant little Fawnpaw. Froststar felt the Clan needed a softer touch in its next leader, and that Littlefoot--with enough instruction--could provide that.
Unfortunately, Littlefoot did not get the chance to get the instruction Froststar intended to give him. Only four moons after Littlefoot was named deputy, in the middle of a devastating Leafbare, greencough took the old leader's life. Littlefoot, confused and distressed, made the long journey to Highstones and took his nine lives long before he was ready. Now, he is the leader of a Clan devastated by cold and sickness, and he is still learning how to lead.
